Well folks… my 80 Day Obsession program has come to an end. And I think the best way to reflect on my results and experience is with a round of Rose Bud! There has been a lot of ups and downs and growth during these 80 days and I feel like Rose Bud will be perfect to cover the entire experience. (There’s a whole post about what this little game is)
Thorn (the worst part)
My nutrition. Plain and simple. With this program there is an extremely strict meal plan, and I am an emotional eater. So trying to plan a wedding, trying to find a place to live, and normal every day stresses… yeah you could say that triggers some emotional eating. I do have to pat myself a little bit; my nutrition is leaps and bounds better than it was. My portions are much smaller, even when it’s my favorite foods (with the exception of pizza… because who can only eat one slice?). My choices for meals have significantly improved and I’ve added way more veggies to my diet. Where I struggle is my daily cups of coffee, my Diet Coke habit, and my love of all baked things. I need to learn to say NO when people are bringing things like cheesecake into the office. I’m not quite there yet. But I will be!
Rose (the best part)
Seeing what I am capable of. I ended the program lifting 10 pounds more than when I started. How cool is that? I’ve never lifted weights a day in my life, so seeing that I am capable of building muscle is so cool. I feel STRONG, and I know that I can get stronger. I also have a very hard time sticking with programs like this… but I was able to push through and commit to 80 freaking days. I can not even begin to explain how emotionally and physically demanding a program like this is. There were numerous days I wanted to quit and I didn’t. And that in itself is a huge accomplishment. Now that I KNOW I can do it, I know I can keep making changes to live my healthiest life.
Bud (what I am looking forward to)
STARTING OVER. A major challenge (and benefit) to this program is that the workouts changes every week. So you spend most of the first week of each phase stumbling around trying to learn the new moves, to the point where you don’t really get everything you can out of that workout. You basically lose an entire week with each phase. Which means… I’M GOING FOR ROUND 2! I am starting the entire program over. And now that I know the moves, I know the meal plan, I will be able to throw myself in full force and really starting seeing the results that I am working so hard for.
I am not ready to post before and after photos, but once I crush round 2 I’m sure I’ll be ready! I’ll keep posting updates and sharing what I have been learning along the way 🙂
