Dry Shampoo Review

Let’s talk dry shampoo! Because no one wants to get up extra early to wash their hair when it’s negative 100 degrees and it’s dark until 10am. So I decided to test out a few different brands to try and figure which one will make me look like a normal human being. (I also want to start by saying while I may not wash my hair every day, it DOES NOT mean I don’t shower every day. Come on people, I’m not that much of a creature from the deep)

Bumble and Bumble:
I absolutely love this dry shampoo. And I have since the get go. It doesn’t leave a lot of residue, it takes nothing to work it in, and it keeps my hair super fresh for a solid three days. I really like the scent of it, but Max thinks it’s crazy strong. He doesn’t think it smells bad, it’s just over powering. But this is definitely my choice dry shampoo, but I do reserve it for special occasions because it’s a little on the pricy side. But ya get what ya pay for.

This is what I am currently using on the daily. It does a super great job of adding volume and keeping my hair from looking super nasty. And the scent isn’t so strong that Max can’t breathe when he walks into the bathroom after I’ve doused my head in it. I have two semi issues with this one. The first being that the dry shampoo itself is SO WHITE. And it takes a lot to work it in, which feels a little counter productive. The second is that by day 3, while my hair doesn’t feel greasy, the product build up is insane. Like I have to wash my hair because of the dry shampoo, not because it’s at all greasy. But all in all this is 100% my new go to. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a great price point.

Here’s where things went a little south…

Not Your Mother’s Plump for Joy Dry Shampoo:
I scooped this one up because of the name. I think it’s hilarious. It works ok for day 2 hair, and while the scent is subtle, it’s kinda gross. Luckily it doesn’t linger. By the end of day two, and morning of day 3 my hair is super gross. So it’s a decent dry shampoo if you over sleep and just need to get through Sunday morning brunch with the girls before you can wash your hair again.

Ogx Refresh and Restore Coconut Miracle Oil Dry Shampoo:
I looooooove how this one smells. It’s light and a little tropical. But I literally hopped right in the shower to wash my hair after I sprayed it. It felt like I overloaded my hair with an entire bottle of hairspray. It was so sticky and I couldn’t even get my fingers into my hair to work it in. I was so freaking disappointed because it smells so good.
