The last few Wednesdays we’ve talked about fueling our bodies, so today we’re talking about MOVING our bodies! Starting a new workout routine can be super daunting. Especially if you don’t feel like you’re quite ready to brave the gym or invest in equipment for your home.
One of my biggest suggestions is to listen to your body and to set reasonable goals. Because let’s be real, if you currently don’t workout at all, you’re not going to start this new routine by diving into a 2 hour long sweat sess. You’ll destroy yourself. So let’s be smart about this.
So let’s set some achievable goals together to get our bodies moving every day!
- Wake up 10 minutes early and get in this simple arm workout before showering.
- Increase our workouts by 15 minutes at the start of each month. (I’ve started this process at 30 minutes 3-4X per week with an end goal of 1.5 hours consistently 4X per week)
- Get up from our desks once an hour and move for 5 minutes.
- Stretch once a day. Find an easy yoga tutorial and stretch either first thing in the morning or right before bed!
Pinterest is full of workout tutorials like this one. I LOVE these. It can be super overwhelming to know where to start or what moves to do when you’re first starting a new workout routine. Use Pinterest to your advantage! And if that seems super daunting, just let me know what areas you’re trying to work on and I will help you find those resources!
