Happy Monday friends! We’re doing Weight Watcher Wednesday early this week beeeecause… we’re mixing things up! It’s no secret that I have been struggling recently with my weight loss journey. It is just a challenging life season. But that doesn’t mean I’m failing. It means it’s time to reevaluate.
I’m going back to the basics! Here’s the game plan:
Before starting my new routine I went out and bought myself a cutie planner, some colorful pens, and obviously stickers. In my planner I wrote out (color coded… duh) all meals, workouts, and even water intake for every single day of the week. This may seem like overkill, but being able to check off each snack, ounce of water, and workout as the week goes on is like a mini reward. It also holds me accountable in a big way. If I miss a meal, or a workout, I’ll have it in writing as a reminder to do better tomorrow.
When I first decided to start working out I joined Beach Body! I’ve done a few of their programs but took a break when I signed up for the gym. The very first program I did was 21 Day Fix. It’s 21 days of 30 minute workouts. It is the perfect reset program! It’s something different every day of the week, you don’t have to format your own workouts, all you need is a set of weights, and it’s only 30 minutes a day. It is such an awesome program to get back into the routine of working out.
I’m combining two programs: Beach Body timed nutrition, and Weight Watchers. I will still be sticking with tracking Weight Watchers points, but I’m going to be much more structured with my eating. The timed nutrition means eating at very specific times throughout the day to keep my metabolism hustling. Yes, it is sort of a pain in the ass. But weight loss is hard freaking work! If it was easy I’d be a size 2 by now.
Prepping meals makes this entire process so much easier. Before grocery shopping on Sunday, I made a big list of every single lunch, snack, and dinner for the entire week (breakfast is missing I know. But breakfast is a Shakeology shake. One less thing to prep). And now everything is portioned out and prepped for grab and go during the week! Putting in a little extra time on Sundays makes for an easier, and healthier up coming week.
